506 actual Running- and Walking measured in cushioning, stability and heel drop
04.03.2012
Our latest Spring/Summer 2012 MOTIONQUEST release contains all data of the 506 actual Running and Walking shoes. We independently measured cushioning, Heel-Drop and Stability. Finally we joined these measurements in the worlds most comprehensive and actual shoe data base.
Getting a deeper and detailed look into the latest shoe data, one can see a clear trend the industry follows: A lot shoe models were give a lower midsole profile , there is a clear tendency for a lower heel drop and the firmness of the midsole EVA increases.
Looking at the Energy Absorption in the rear foot of the running shoe, we measured values from 30 to 225. Meaning: the higher the value, the bigger the amount of cushioning and the ability of the material to transfer mechanical Energy into heat. But: what is the right amount of cushioning? We are working hard to give you an answer with our next Fall/Winter 2012/13 Update.
The absolute trends in this actual collection are so called “minimalistic” shoes. These shoes have a reduced rear foot height and cushioning. To run these shoes you need to change your body position and your running style to a more active type.
Considering the Heel Drop we could find a range from 0 mm (zero heel drop) to 15 mm.
All these new measurement – and of course our well know range of stability – are an important factor to determine the perfect running shoe for your customer.
