Slat-belt treadmill for natural cushioning
Sprintex slat-belt treadmill: Running - inspired by nature
Oriented
on point-elastic natural ground the treadmill SPRINTEX Ortho is perfect for video-based
analysis, rehabilitation and personal trainings. By contrast to conventional
belt-driven treadmills single ball-bearing lamella enable a natural gait pattern.
By contrast to the slat technology of the SPRINTEX Ortho, conventional
belt-driven treadmills – which are similar to conveyor belts at a supermarket
– pull the foot along the highly shock-absorbent surface of the belt. The surface
elasticity of such treadmills dips by up to 4 cm with each step and
changes the
position of the joints and the gait in an unnatural way. With its low
degree of
friction and the slat’s T-shaped design, SPRINTEX slat technology
eliminates
this effect because each slat guarantees natural ground reaction forces.
A
natural running gait as if on natural surfaces is the result.
Being able to reverse the running direction is another aspect that can be adopted in gait analysis. This function enables anterior and posterior views as well as both side views without having to change the position of the cameras.
The adapted and adjustable handrail enables an unobstructed view of the side of the body without hiding anything.

Technological advantages:
- Point-elastic slat technology for a natural gait
- Forwards and backwards running directions in order to record the anterior and posterior views. The running surface remains stable even when running backwards.
- Abrasion-resistant central marking in order to measure the track width
- Air pockets in the slats’ rubber surfaces to make running easy on the joints
- Unobstructed view of the treadmill surface due to the motor being positioned under the running surface
- Vibration-free steel frame with free-running T-slats mounted on ball bearings
- Continuously adjustable speed via integrated display
- Emergency stop via safety switch
- Terrain configuration for video as required
